Nontraditional Storytelling Family Photography – Omaha Family Photographer

“Every picture has a story to tell…”

I have this written on my business cards, on my website, and it’s almost become cliche in the photography industry. That said, I still truly believe this!

I know this is a tad morbid, but the truth is we are not on this earth forever. After we are gone, the only thing we leave behind is our legacy – which in large part is photos of us. Those photos should tell our story.

Are you fun loving and love to laugh and have a good time? Are you obsessed with your kids and spend your weekends filled with cuddles? Are your summers filled with ball games or pool time? Whatever the answer is, your family pictures should reflect just that.

I was chatting with this sweet mama and she was telling me all about how much they love driving their Argo around their (gorgeous!) property so we planned a session centered around just that. I recommended they wear real summer clothes – shorts and tank tops, bikini tops, baseball caps. Flowy dresses and khakis have their place and this was not it!

Let me tell you, we had so much fun! Dad couldn’t wait to have this session, mom wasn’t stressed out, and the kids had a blast! There really was so much laughing and having fun. The kids particularly enjoyed not getting yelled at for having fun and they didn’t fight what they had to wear since they were able to pick it out themselves.
